The main objectives of starting this program include:

The department intends to adapt the curriculum devised by PAIV under its Advanced Certificate in Machine Learning (ACML) for an eight month training program in addition to other short courses, seminars/webinars, hands-on-workshops and other skill development activities.

Foster a culture of research, promote interdisciplinary collaboration and align the lab’s activities with the needs of the industries and businesses.

Encourage innovation and entrepreneurship by supporting startups, projects and initiatives.

Offered Courses

Programming for Machine Learning
The Python part of the course is similar to Stanford CS 41. Students will also be taught Numpy and usage of other Scientific Python Libraries. Students will be taught Linux as in CS 1U. Source control techniques and usage of other software development tools will be taught as well. Finally, students will gain mastery of working in a cloud environment such as AWS.

Mathematics For Machine Learning
The first half of the course covers Linear Algebra and Multivariable Calculus as in Math 51. The second half of the course covers CS 109 Introduction to Probability for Computer Scientists. Homeworks will also have programming assignments to further develop programming skills developed in the earlier course.
