Engr. Abid Javed has done BS and MS in Electrical Engineering from UET, Lahore. He is with Department of Electronic Engineering, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur as regular faculty member in 2000. His areas of interest are embedded systems, IoT, power electronics, industrial automation and robotics. At the department, he has established a research and development center “Center of Automation, Robotics and Embedded Systems (CARE)”.

At CARE he has initialized collaborations with industry/academia and has done several projects for industry. He has provided industrial trainings to professionals and has contributed in skilled professional development. He has also established a section for scientific laboratory equipment where, he has provided technical solutions for rehabilitation and upgradation of several equipment, for faculty of science, agriculture, pharmacy and veterinary. He is also providing solutions for mobile, desktop and web application development for IoT based projects. His student associates of CARE have participated in several conferences, expos and competitions and have won several incubation grants. Currently, he is working on two ML based projects for Pakistan Army.
